Five Easy Exercises You Can Do On Your Lunch Break


Working out during your lunch break can make you more energetic and productive in the afternoon. But if you have to squeeze your entire workout into an hour or 30 minutes, you need to be very selective about the exercises you choose. So, which exercises should you include in your lunch-time workouts? The following five exercises are an excellent place to start:


Push-ups are great because you can perform them near your desk or at the gym, depending on how much time you have to spare. This exercise is an excellent way to tone your upper body while stretching out your shoulder muscles and easing the tension that comes from bending over your computer every day. Push-ups are also scalable, which means that you can modify them to suit your fitness levels and eventually build up to harder modifications.

Dumbbell Circuits

Dumbbell circuits are a group of exercises that you can perform to achieve outstanding results in a short time. You can choose circuits that target the upper body, abdominals, lower body, or even your entire body. You can do one circuit at a time or combine all of the exercises for a quick and efficient workout.

Wall Squats

Wall squats can easily be performed at your desk or a nearby gym. This exercise works your glutes, hamstrings, and abductor muscles. It can also help you with your balance. You can perform this exercise at the office.  

Stair Climbs

Take advantage of the stairs at your office to fit in a quick and easy workout that will get your heart pumping and improve your overall cardiovascular health. Start by climbing up two flights of stairs instead of using the elevator. After a while, you can increase your workout to include three, four, five, or even more flights of stairs.

Yoga Stretches

You can do yoga stretches at your desk during your lunch hour and any other time you feel the need to stretch your tight muscles. Yoga stretches can reduce the numbness you experience from sitting for hours at a time, improve your circulation, and even increase your flexibility. After a while, you will begin to notice you can move around and perform everyday tasks without stiffness or pain.

Exercising during your lunch hour is an excellent way to improve your fitness, save time in the evening for other activities, and counter the effects of sitting at a desk for many hours.
